Kingspan
Wind Energy Scheme
Welcome
Kingspan have been working with Wind Direct to investigate the possibility of a Wind Energy Scheme at their Holywell manufacturing plant. The scheme would fall in line with the company’s current portfolio of energy saving and environmentally sustainable activities which seek to achieve carbon neutrality by 2020 and render their sites net zero energy.
In addition, this on-site generation scheme will not only benefit the environment by reducing the carbon footprint of their insulated panel products, it will bring price stability and security to a large consumer of electricity and a major employer in the area.
In October 2014 a planning application was submitted to Flintshire County Council for the consideration of two 78m high wind turbine to be installed at Kingspan to provide on-site generation of power. The planning application can be viewed on the County Councils website (Application number: 052922) and the non-technical summary can be viewed here.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of the proposed planning application please contact the project manager Nicola Mortimer, contact details can be found here.
